AN INTENSIVE supervision order didn’t stop a 20-year-old Albany man committing a crime spree late last year when he stole property from four cars parked on the same street in McKail.
Bodean Douglas Eades pleaded guilty to five counts of stealing in Albany Magistrates Court last week and was fined $1900 for his crimes.
Prosecuting Sgt Dave Loverock told the court Mr Eades smashed the front window of a car on Scorpio Drive in December and stole $10 worth of food from the vehicle.
On the same road, Mr Eades bashed in the window of another car and stole a work bag worth $100.
The unemployed 20-year-old continued a ‘smash and grab’ along Scorpio Drive when he stole a battery pack and an electric pager from two unlocked cars.
Mr Eades was linked to the four crimes by DNA evidence left at the scene.
Defence lawyer Janie Gibbs said Mr Eades had no recollection of the McKail crimes and didn’t have any of the stolen items in his possession when he woke up the next day.
In a separate incident, Sgt Loverock said Mr Eades stole four bottles of bourbon from Amity Tavern at about 1.35pm on December 16.
Magistrate Diane Scaddan determined Mr Eades would continue on his court-imposed intensive supervision order.
